Frank RuizFrank Ruiz of Eugene died Feb. 18 of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 84. A private service is planned.He was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Sacramento, Calif., to Angel and Grace Urrutia Ruiz. He married Jacqueline Sordahl on Jan. 20, 1951, in Whittier, Calif.He was a graduate of Belmont High School in Los Angeles. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 on the USS Sea Devil. He worked as city manager for the city of La Puente for 25 years.Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve of Eugene; three daughters, Sue Abatangelo and Cheryl Ruiz-Brelsford, both of Eugene, and Karen Downtain of Encinitas, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
