Obituary of Jim Blight

With a heavy heart, we share with you the passing of our beloved James (Jim) Blight, on Tuesday, Dec. 24th, 2019.Jim’s passions ran deep. He loved movies (Westerns were high on his list!), nature and art. Most important to him were his family and friends. Jim brought an uncanny sense of wonder, creativity and humour to the world around him. From “Dos Hombres” to “Hole-in-the-Ground Studios”, Jim showed his love though stories, amazing drawings, carvings and photographs. He surrounded this family and close friends with a fiercely protective love and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them.On January 25, 2020, please join Jim’s wife and best friend Debra, his son Jesse, his Euchre partner and daughter-in-law Liana, as well as his two grandchildren, River and Ash, for an afternoon of laughter, Willie Nelson and well-lived stories.Date: Saturday, January 25th, 2020Time: 1pm – 5pm (A special word will be shared at 3pm) Location: Address: 400 Swinburne Dr., Burlington L7N 3K5Please bring your stories, pictures and, if you can, anything he may have made for you along the way, to share with all.In lieu of flowers, the family will thankfully accept donations for a tree to be planted in Jim’s memory – in a lovely place TBD where any and all may visit for a personal moment.
