Obituary of Margret Piper
Margret Christina Piper, (nee Moffatt) 97, was called home to be with her Jesus on December 19th 2019. “Chris” was born on October 20th 1922, in New Toronto, Ontario. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Frank of 63 years and a loving mother to Mark, Houston, Texas, Karen (Jonathan) of Tampa, Florida. Grandchildren Matthew (Natasha), Marah, Samantha, Melody, Lily.Other family members are Lori (Don) Lexington Kentucky. Grandchildren Erin, Lindsay, Jordan and Hope. Many great grandaughters and grandsonsChris accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour on Sunday, February 6th, 1939 at Mimico Gospel Hall, Toronto, Ontario. She never failed to share how good God had been to her all the days of her life. Through heartache and hardships, through heart attacks and cancer, Chris would be the first to tell anyone that she survived them all because of her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She knew that this life was temporary and that her real home would be in heaven one day. Chris wanted to make her life count, not for herself or family but for God alone. Through Him she embraced the grace-bought opportunity to use her voice, gifts, influence, joy, suffering and weakness. She knew that in her less, Christ becomes more. And in greater suffering comes opportunity to know that He is greater still. Chris had everything to gain and nothing to risk by following her Jesus because she knew that Jesus Christ has paid on the cross for her eternity.Philillians 3:7-9But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.Chris had the assurance that her worst day with God on this earth would be better than her best day without Him.Growing up, she canceled any plans of a secondary education when he own father suddenly passed away, to care for her own mother. Anybody who knew Chris wasn’t surprised by her selfless actions. Later in life, after Chris and Frank married, Chris’s mother Elizabeth was welcomed into their home to live with them. This speaks volumes as to the character of who she was to all that knew her.She trained with Bell Canada as a Switchboard Operator and later work for the Board of Education.Chris and Frank moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with their son Mark and to be cared for by their granddaughter Marah and daughter Karen. They moved back to Oakville, where she and Frank lived at Northridge Long Term Care. After her husband’s passing on July 14th, 2019, we have every confidence that Chris is rejoicing with her heavenly Father along with her beloved Frank. Please leave a message of condolence for the family in our online guestbook.
