Richard ProcarioneA reception will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Eugene Country Club for Richard D. Procarione of Eugene, who died Feb. 20 of pancreatic cancer. He was 78.He was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Joliet, Ill., to Dominic and Elizabeth McGee Procarione. He married Marion DePiano on Oct. 9, 1954, in Seattle.He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1951. He attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and completed his bachelor of science degree at the University of Washington. He served in the Army 2nd Infantry, 10th Mountain Division. He began his career in 1955 at Martin-Marietta Corp. in Seattle as a chemist.He relocated to Eugene to become general manager of Chembond Corp. in 1961. In 1964, he joined Gossett Resins and Chemicals as president. He continued his wood products career with positions in Cascade Resins, Umpqua Plywood, Continental Resins and Minnesota Resins.He joined Brand S Corp. and become executive vice president in 1980. He held that same position concurrently at Diamond B Sustaining Forest Systems of Florida and Bolivia.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Teresa Zaret and Renee Simonis; a brother, William Procarione of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
