Obituary of Gane Sing Richard Wong 黃健勝

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Richard "Dickie" Wong on December 13, 2019 at the age of 86 after a short and sudden illness at the Markham Stouffville Hospital.Born in Canton, China on March 26, 1933, Dickie was the son of the late William and Joy (Coke) Wong.Greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Carmella (Lau), he is survived by his five children, Mary Hamilton (Ian) of Dalhousie NB, Ruth Madden (Brent) of Fredericton NB, Harry Wong (Anita) of Richmond Hill, Danny Wong (Evergreen) of Oakville and Richard Junior Wong(Diane) of Markham, Ontario. He is predeceased by his son Stanley.Dickie was the loving grandfather of his four grandchildren, Melissa Ruest (Stefan), Ryan Madden (Brittany), Keaton Wong and Carter Wong and of his two great grandchildren, Maya and Max Ruest.Dickie raised his family in Dalhousie, New Brunswick and had a successful restaurant career. Upon his retirement in 1982 Dickie and Carmella moved to Markham, Ontario where he enjoyed many years pursuing his passion for fishing.
