Obituary of Jay Bloom

Jay BloomJay Leslie Bloom of Eugene died March 4 of unknown causes, pending an autopsy. He was 65. A private family memorial and inurnment will be held.He was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Leslie and Valora Lisonbee Bloom. He married Scherlie Hoover on Sept. 15, 1973, in Eugene.He held an associate of arts degree from Portland Community College. He served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1967. He worked as a loan officer for several financial institutions before becoming manager of Food Industries Federal Credit Union. He retired in 1985 because of a military disability.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melissa Shields of Eugene and Kimberley Bloom of Portland; a brother, Charles of Idaho; a sister, Faye Sharp of Newberg; two grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
