Obituary of Silvina Almeida
Silvina passed away peacefully on the 2nd of December, 2019 at the age of 94, surrounded by family. She was born in Casal Vasco, Beira Alta, Portugal and came to Canada in 1959 to be re-united with her beloved husband, Jose, who passed away in February, 2017. Although she did not know who we were anymore for the longest time, we knew who she was. She was cared for by her daughter Joyce till her last breath, and no one received better care. Silvina was the last of 9 siblings, Joao, Lucinda, Maria, Benedita, Anibal, Erico, Jose, and Emelia. Her parents Jose and Palmira pre-deceased her a long time ago, her father having lived to the age of 96. She was a strong woman who worked hard most of her life and loved to cook and dance. Boy did she love to dance! By the time her beloved Jose passed away, Alzheimers had already set in, and his passing was very vague to her. They can now dance up a storm in Heaven. Silvina leaves behind her 4 children - Paula, Joyce, Fernando and Maria and sons-in-law Norberto and William, and daughter-in-law Rose She had 7 grandchildren - Jaime, Paulo, Ashley, Joseph, Chad, Brandi, and Shawn who passed away in 2004; and 6 great-grandchildren - Austin, Logan, Jaxson, Layla, Scarlett, and Blake. She will be missed dearly. RIP precious one.
