Obituary of Liam Thomas
William Austin Thomas (Liam), born August 27th 1948 resident of Toronto, Canada, died unexpectedly on November 27th 2019 at the age of 71. Liam is survived by his ex wife Ann, sons Harold and William, daughter Caroline, daughter in law Ela, granddaughters Jody, Ania, Nicole and grandson Brandon. Brothers Henry, Noel,Andy and sisters Ruth and Clair. Sisters in law Mary, Sheila and brothers in law Heinz and Joe. He is pre-deceased by his parents Harry and Yvonne Thomas, his sister Patsy and brothers Vinnie, Des and sons Alan and Finnian. Liam was born and raised in Roo, Craughwell in Co. Galway. He was a well known and renowned panel beater, mechanic and had a garage on Plunkett Ave, Mervue, Galway.Liam lived a huge part of his life in Canada, he spent many years working for the Toronto Transit Company maintaining the buses. He also ran his own garage for a number of years in Mississauga on Fewster Drive, and on Shamrock road in Erin.Liam loved spending time up North in winter snowmobiling and summers out on the lake spending time with his family and close friends. Although Liam has long left Ireland, he never forgot his family or friends there and would regularly talk about them. Liam was well liked and known for his quick wit and sense of humour. Many stories have been told, usually with a comical outcome with Liam at the centre. It is a sad time for Liams family and friends, he will be terribly missed and never forgotten.
