Obituary of John Joseph Abraham

ABRAHAM, John JosephPeacefully and surrounded by family on Friday November 22, 2019 in his 82nd year. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Paula. He is survived by his sister Mary-Anne. Loving father of Chris (Lisa) and Paula-Marie (James) and grandfather to Hazel, Saige, Jayde, Leo and Loden. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by all. Remembered for his kind and thoughtful spirit that was sure to light up a room the moment he entered.Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, John had a fulfilling life starting by serving in the U.S. Airforce. He was then ordained as a Priest, followed by successfully completing 2 master’s degrees from the University of Dayton, Ohio and finishing up his studies at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. From there he ran a small business named after his two children and enjoyed a successful career as a School Teacher eventually retiring but continuing his passion to teach on a part-time basis.Always on the go, John had a passion for people, sports and social justice - focusing his time on promoting sustainable justice for those who live on the edge of poverty and despair. A forever Notre Dame Football fan, he was relentless in teaching everyone he could the Notre Dame Fight song.
