Peter Andrew Scott

Obituary of Peter Andrew Goforth Scott

Peter “Petey Bob, Pistol Pete” Andrew Goforth Scott, 65, of Belleville, ON, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2019 in Ottawa, ON. Peter was the 4th born child to Robert and Patricia Scott in Belleville, ON on April 9, 1954. He always maintained he was the favourite, but that is still unclear and thus the final ruling must be litigated in family court….or at a bar. Peter was a graduate of BCI where he starred as the quarterback of the football team and captained the basketball team. A star athlete, he also excelled in fastball and hockey. He graduated from Loyalist College with a diploma in Business Administration and later went on to coach the Loyalist College Men’s basketball team. He spent many years at Bell Canada in Belleville before he moved to Ottawa where he became an Electrician, receiving his diploma from Algonquin College.Peter is survived by his two children, Michelle (Jason) Lange of London, ON and Jeffrey (Michele) Scott of Naples, FL; his four grandchildren, Mason Lange, Mackenzie Lange, Kiah Meacham-Scott, and Madeline Scott; his sister Gaye (Alan Lew) Scott; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely but what followed in a very close second was his love for the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Belleville Bulls, cold beer, his dog Rocky, the Travelling Wilburys, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Hockey Night in Canada, anything Canadian, cigarettes, and teen burgers. Peter was an incredible man who had an infectious laugh and smile. He had a unique bag of one-liners and if you were lucky enough to be called “Bubba” or “Moose”, then you knew you were one of his friends. He will be truly missed by all of his coworkers and friends at TD Place, Bell Canada, the Canadian Tire Center, the Canadian Space Agency, Algonquin Apartments, and more specifically his close friends Gary, Dougey and Jean Marc.Peter is preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Robert, his two brothers, Graydon & John Scott, and his best friend Roddy Cameron. There will be two Celebrations of life; one in Ottawa and the other in Belleville, at “happy hour” in the Spring of 2020 with a date to be determined.Peter’s children would like to extend their sincere thanks to all his friends at TD Place and the Algonquin Apartments (specifically Margo and Cody), and the Briere Hospital. Well-wishers are encouraged to write a note of farewell on a cold beer and drink it in his honour and discuss sports.Rest easy Daddy xoFuneral Arrangement Entrusted to Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery.
