Constance HixsonConstance Evelyn Hixson of Eugene died March 2 of age-related causes. She was 88.She was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Oakland, Calif., to Jesse and Evelyn Park Fullmer. She married Roy “Les” Hixson Jr. in 1947.She enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps in 1943. Most of her service was spent in support of the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, N.M., as a librarian.After the war, she graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She worked an administrative assistant at the UO College of Education from 1968 to 1988.Survivors include her husband; three sons, Gregory of Lake Oswego, David “Jay” III of Orlando, Fla., and David of Springfield; a sister, Barbara Collie of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.Remembrances to Eugene Symphony Youth Concert Series.
