Obituary of Paul Gillis

It is with great sadness that the families of Paul Alexander Gillis, born on April 20, 1955, in Toronto, Ontario announce that Paul suddenly passed away on November 23, 2019 at Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto at the age of 64. Paul is predeceased by his parents Woodrow and Alexena Gillis and his bother Ian Gillis.Paul graduated high school, and Police College, wherein he valued his career with the Toronto Police Service as a Police Constable, during which time he worked alongside the OPP and the RCMP. Paul also pursued a career in the Elevator Industry and prior to his death worked as a Security Guard.Paul will be lovingly remembered by: his partner and best friend, Maureen Ashby, of Toronto, Ontario, his son Matthew Gillis and his spouse Sherry Millar of Innisfil & his beloved granddaughter Channing, his daughter Jessica Gillis of Bowmanville, their mother Gail Gillis, his brother Al and his wife Cindy of Mississauga, Ian’s wife Jackie & his niece Jennifer, her husband Mike and their children Nathan and Camden, his step children Kelly-Lynn and Christopher Marshall of Toronto, his step grandchildren Craig, Shane, and Nicole , and long-time friend Robert Gourlay.In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Diabetes Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Cancer Society would be welcomed.A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at a date not yet determined.
