Obituary of Ernest Hoyt

Ernest Arthur Hoyt of Eugene died March 18 of age-related causes. He was 94. A memorial service will be held later.He was born April 18, 1917, in Decorah, Iowa, to Arthur and Katie Medberry Hoyt. He and his wife, Evelyn, were married on Aug. 31, 1935, in Philomath. She died April 5, 2003.He was a high school graduate and had a ministerial education. He owned his own logging company until 1966, and then served as a minister until 1991.Survivors include four sons, Robert and Clifford, both of Milwaukie, Keith of Castle Rock, Colo., and Bryan of Wise, Va.; a daughter, Kathleen Conner of Eugene; a sister, Shirley Garriott of Roseburg; and 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A daughter, Tamy Hoyt, died previously.Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to ARC of Lane County.
