Obituary of Irene Moen

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Eugene for Irene Moen of Eugene, who died March 14 of age-related causes. She was 89.She was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Grand Forks, N.D., to Patrick and Nora Carroll. She married Leo Moen on 1950 in North Dakota. He died previously.She held a master’s degree in education. She worked as a schoolteacher for 30 years.Survivors include a son, Jerome Sweeney of Eugene; a daughter, Allison Sullivan of Eugene; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Burial will be at in Lane Memorial Gardens.
