Obituary of Mary Griggs

Mary GriggsA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 24 at Unity of the Valley Church in Eugene for Mary Craig Griggs of Eugene, who died Feb. 22 of age-related causes. She was 95.She was born April 28, 1916, in Vancouver, B.C., to Richard and Minerva Grant Craig. She married Allan Griggs on Dec. 24, 1940, in San Francisco. He died in January 1999.She received her bachelor of arts degree from Stanford University. She worked as an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, with her last school in Fremont, Calif.Survivors include a daughter, Martha Hastings of Sacramento, and two grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
