Obituary of Don Maus
Calvin MausCalvin Donald “Don” Maus of Eugene died March 14 of age-related causes. He was 96. No service is planned.He was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Omaha, Neb., to Calvin and Laurel Hawk Maus. He married Beula Anne Blair on Sept. 26, 1942, in Denver. She died Nov. 17, 2011.He graduated from Van Nuys High School in California and held a bachelor of science degree in forestry from Oregon State University and a master of science degree in forestry from Yale University. He served in the Army Air Corps as armaments officer-captain from June 1942 to September 1945. He worked as an assistant state forester with the state Department of Forestry and retired after 30 years. After his retirement, he became a wedding photographer.Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Brown of Eugene and Anne Canon of Medford; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
