Obituary of Ada Copeland

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Maia Park Community Center in Springfield for Ada Mae Copeland of Springfield, who died March 9 of age-related causes. She was 84.She was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio, to Leroy and Ida Andersen Rice. She married Joseph Charles Copeland Jr. on May 9, 1948, in Oakland.She graduated from Oakland High School in 1945. She worked as a legal secretary for more than 25 years, 12 years in Prineville and then in Eugene.Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles of Eugene; a daughter, Marcy Parrish of Springfield; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Entombment was at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
