Obituary of Eileen Stewart

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Sonrise Christian Church in Eugene for Eileen W. Stewart of Springfield, who died March 31 of age-related causes. She was 93.She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Goodlin, Kan., to Robert and Alma Overleese Evans. She married Frank Edwin Stewart on Nov. 30, 1939, in Holmesville, Neb. He died May 19, 1986.She graduated from high school in Holmesville, Neb. She worked as a food processor for 25 years at Chet’s Frozen Foods.Survivors include a son, Gary of Eugene; a daughter, Linda Duke of Eugene; two brothers, Ken Evans of McPherson, Kan., and Jack Evans of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.A son, Robert, died in 2010.Private burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.Remembrances may be sent to the Sarcoma Foundation of the Phil Knight Cancer Institute at OHSU in Portland.
