Obituary of Rival Hurlburt

ALVADORE — A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. May 12 at the Hulburt home in Alvadore for Rival Lyle Hurlburt of Alvadore, who died April 29 of heart failure. He was 90.He was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Eugene to Ray Win and Esther Smith Hurlburt. He married LaVerda Parrish on May 30, 1942, in Salem.He graduated from Creswell High School. He served in the Coast Guard and worked as a millwright, Realtor and contractor.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ray of Colorado and L. Quinn of Florida; a daughter, Sandra Cunningham of Alvadore; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.
