Obituary of Velma Peterson

Velma Mae Peterson of Springfield died May 1 of age-related causes. She was 87. No service is planned.She was born May 26, 1924, in Absarokee, Mont., to Albert and Mary Braley Bennett. She married Carl Orvil Peterson on Jan. 2, 1943, in Columbus, Mont. He died May 27, 2010.She was a homemaker and worked in retail sales at a local dress shop in Springfield.Survivors include a son, Douglas of Springfield; two daughters, Judy Kemp of Springfield and Kathy Venn of Lyle, Minn.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A twin son died at birth.Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
