Obituary of Arthur Peterson

Arthur PetersonA memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Dayspring Fellowship Church for Arthur N. “Norman” Peterson of Eugene, who died April 28 of age-related causes. He was 83. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, May 1, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Eugene to Arthur and Gladys Petersen Peterson. He married Bessie Katherine Hadsall on Sept. 3, 1950, in Eugene.He graduated from Eugene High School in 1948. He served in the Army National Guard from 1951 to 1953. He began work in Eugene as a barber, spent about 10 years working in local sawmills then worked as a custodian in the Eugene School District for 22 years, until his retirement.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney of Louisville, Ky., and Mark of Monroe; a daughter, Karen Moore of Eugene; a sister, Lucille Goddard of Kennedale, Texas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A great grandson, Ryan Barroeta, died in December 1999.Private burial will be held at Bellfountain Cemetery.
