Obituary of Emogene Schellhorn

Emogene SchellhornA memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today, May 11, at Central Lutheran Church in Eugene for Emogene “Emmy” Schellhorn of Eugene, who died May 6 of age-related causes. She was 75.She was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Nome, N.D., to James and Ruth Hansey Gjesvold.She graduated with a master’s degree in education from the University of Oregon. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Gresham for 25 years. She retired in 1998.Survivors include a son, Brian Whitmore of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Jacquie Whitmore of Ridgway, Colo.; a brother, Jerry Gjesvold of Albany; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
