Obituary of Mark Fortier

Mark FortierMark L. Fortier of Eugene died May 14 of diabetes. He was 64. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.He was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Victoria, B.C., Canada, to Marcel and Lucille Rasmussen Fortier. He married Carol Ann Carder in January 1967 in Eugene. They later divorced.He graduated from South Eugene High School and attended Lane Community College. He worked as a carpenter with his father since the age of 17 and built custom homes for M.P. Fortier Home Building. Since 2000, he worked for the University of Oregon.Survivors include his parents, now of Eugene; a son, Nicholas Boyles of Eugene; three sisters, Carol Johnson and JoAnn Dalton, both of Eugene, and Janice Kersey of Lake Folsom, Calif.; and two grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
