Obituary of Leona Mentze

Leona MentzeLeona Mentze of Eugene died June 1 of age-related causes. She was 91. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 4, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.She was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Montgomery County, Mo., to Fred and Myrtle Randal Haislip. She married William “Bill” Mentze on May 15, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo.A high school graduate, she was a homemaker.Survivors include her husband; a son, Fred of Springfield; four daughters, Juretta Wright of Pasco, Wash., Verona Exe and LaDonna Brown, both of Eugene, and Billie Jean Brock of Tacoma; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Two grandsons, Wayne Wright and Scott Brock, died previously.Private burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park.
