Obituary of Jesse Hernandez

After praying for 7 years, God answered our prayers and blessed us with Jesse. With his bright, vocal and energetic presence he reminded us to appreciate and enjoy life's simple pleasures. He loved to read, play, sing and tell stories. He used everything he could to develop scenes and bring his imagination, which knew no boundaries, to life. He was always busy exploring, learning and drawing. Jesse believed in seeing things and people as they were and often quoted Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was fair and quick to forgive. He had a very generous and giving spirit. He was a very loving boy that showed real concern when he saw people in need and always wanted to know how he could help. His compassion for others, as strong as it was, could not compare with what he shared with friends and family. Anyone that spoke with him for more than a minute got a healthy dose of his spirit, which left one with little doubt as to what he thought or how he felt. Thank you, Lord, for our precious gift that has filled our hearts and lives with joy, laughter and love. Keep him safely in your care until we can be with him again. Jesse, we know you "got stuff to do", so have fun doing it. Bye-bye, baby boy. We Love You. Night, Night sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite, bite, bite! In lieu of flowers and in keeping with the spirit of giving that Jesse showed, Holly and Greg request that donations be made to Jesse's trust fund at Northwest Community Credit Union, or that a toy or book be donated in his name to the Relief Nursery or Toys for Tots. Services will be at Fairfield Baptist Church, 3991 Elmira Road, Eugene, OR at 3:30 on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
