Gene GoffA graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. June 8 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland for Gene Goff of Eugene, who died May 12 of age-related causes. He was 95. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 7 at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.He was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Goshen to Raymond and Leta Mathews Goff. He married Berniece Buley in 1937 in Portland. He married Marguerite King Wilson on Oct. 14, 1944, in New Orleans. She died May 30, 1983.He graduated from Eugene High School and got his refrigeration certification from Lane Community College in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from July 1, 1942, to Oct. 11, 1945.From 1945 to 1950, he operated a restaurant, Goff’s Coffee Shop, on Mount Hood Highway. From 1952 to 1966, he was a cement worker in Eugene, working for Eugene Sand and Gravel, Emerald Swimming Pools and Eugene Vault Co. From 1966 to 1980, he worked as a refrigeration technician.Survivors include three daughters, Deanna Taylor and Marian Blackford, both of Portland, and Janet Hamilton of Eugene; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A grandson, Danny Jarvis, died in 1985.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Alzheimer’s Association in Eugene.
