Obituary of Regina Samek

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eugene for Regina Samek of Eugene, who died May 31 of cancer. She was 82.Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday.She was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Glen Ulin, N.D., to Henry and Katherine Trout Fitterer.She married Henry E. Samek on Dec. 27, 1949, in Dickinson, N.D. He died Jan. 12, 2005.She was a homemaker.Survivors include a son, Lew of Eugene; a daughter, Linda Cole of Springfield; three brothers, Marcus Fitterer of Renton, Wash., Sylvester Fitterer of Long Beach, Calif., and Alfonse Fitterer of Tuttle, N.D.; four sisters, Minnie Krause and Florence Daugherty, both of Dickinson, N.D., and Maggie Felton and Marian Staton, both of Eugene; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.
