Obituary of Joan Bray

Joan BrayA celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Central Presbyterian Church in Eugene for Joan Mary Bray of Eugene, who died May 28 of temporal arteritis. She was 92.She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Llanrwst, Wales, United Kingdom, to Edward and Anne Jones Mitford. She married Alvin Henry Bray on Oct. 18, 1944, in Taunton, England. He died June 6, 1986.She received a degree in biology and a teaching certificate from Bristol University in England. She was a biology teacher in Britain and a kindergarten and preschool teacher in Eugene.Survivors include a son, Michael of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Nancy Bray of Eugene; and four grandchildren.Private inurnment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.Remembrances may be sent to the Nature Conservancy or Womenspace.
