Obituary of Wayne Folger

LAKESIDE — A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. June 22 at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene for Wayne A. Folger of Lakeside, who died June 8 of age-related causes. He was 80. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. June 23 at 71878 Dragonfly Road, Lakeside.He was born May 3, 1932, in Walbach, Neb., to Ralph and Bessie Terry Folger. He and his wife, Billie, were married May 16, 1953.He graduated from Grants Pass High School. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. He worked as a custom home construction worker until his retirement.Survivors include a son, Kerry of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, DeAnn VanGestel of Coos Bay; a brother, Don of Eugene; a sister, Shirley Roth of Eugene; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Kim Folger, died in 1980 and a granddaughter, Alisha “Kia” VanGestel, died in 2004.Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Remembrances to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
