Obituary of Myrtle Diess

Myrtle Louise Diess of Eugene died July 11 of age-related causes. She was 93.She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Weatherby, Mo., to Robert and Della Fitts Flanders. She married Hubert Diess on Oct. 30, 1937, in Eugene. He died Aug. 26, 1996.She attended schools in Missouri and Kansas. She co-owned and operated Diess Feed & Seed from 1956 to 1974. She also worked at Woolworth’s and Solberg’s Market.Survivors include two sons, Bob of Crow and Bill of Eugene; a daughter, Connie Tish of Eugene; a sister, Leona Turner Smith of Eugene; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Karin K. Diess, died Dec. 27, 2004.Private entombment was July 13 at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.Arrangements by Musgrove’s at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
