Obituary of Charles Rissberger De Cuman

Charles Rissberger Dé Cuman of Eugene died July 28 of age-related causes. He was 92.A recitation of the rosary and a visitation is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, Junction City.He was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Portland to Charles and Clara Grove Dé Cuman. He married Clara Stangeland on Jan. 12, 1941.He graduated from Roseburg High School in 1938 and attended Oregon Agricultural College. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war, he worked as a carpenter and then for 37 years for Pacific Northwest Bell.Survivors include four sons, Glen Rissberger of Gladstone, John Rissberger of Donald, Robert Rissberger of Junction City and Tom Dé Cuman of Salem; five daughters, Janie Wright, Mary Dé Cuman-Clyde and Cyndi Adeniji of Eugene, Nancy Dé Cuman-Kinnard of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Susan Parry of San Diego; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.Burial will be at 3 p.m., Friday in Eugene’s Mount Calvary Cemetery.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City. Remembrances to the St. Helen Catholic Church or St. Mary Catholic Church.
