Obituary of Onda Hedden

Onda Hedden 1927 - 2012 Drain - Onda Hedden of Drain, died Aug. 15 of age-related causes. She had recently celebrated her 85th birthday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at West Lawn Memorial Chapel, Eugene. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. She was born July 31, 1927, to Roy and Pearl (Myers) Culver. She married Dale Gates on Dec. 14, 1945, in Eugene, Oregon. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1974. She married Randall Hedden on Dec. 29, 1975, in Vancouver, Washington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2000. Onda attended Elmira High School; she was a homemaker and later worked side by side with Dale in their family logging business. She and Dale resided in Lane and Douglas Counties. During her marriage to Randall, Onda lived in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties. Onda enjoyed square dancing and visiting with friends. She was a member of Estacada Community Fellowship and Drain Church of Christ. Her love for her family will always be remembered and cherished. Survivors include two daughters: Sandra Witt of Drain, Oregon, and Gloria Stein of Estacada, Oregon; five grandchildren: Sherri Tinnes, Greg Stein, Shelley Hill, Shannon Benson, Amy Hamilton; and eight great-grandchildren: Tyson Tinnes, Trent Tinnes, Dayna Hamilton, Eddie Hill, Travis Tinnes, Kaylin Hamilton, Samantha Stein, and Alexandra Stein. Burial will be held at Gates Cemetery in Crow, Oregon, following the funeral service.
