Obituary of Fern Eng

Fern EngA memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Musgrove Family Center in Eugene, for Fern Eng of Eugene, who died Aug. 17 of cancer. She was 61.She was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Toishan, China, to Yue and Jean Chin Eng. She married John Volmert on April 29, 1976, in Lane County.She received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 1973 and her law degree from the University of Oregon in 1981. She worked as an attorney in Eugene for 30 years representing individuals, businesses and the indigent.Survivors include her husband; her mother, Jean Eng of Wenatchee, Wash.; a son, Justin Volmert of San Francisco; two brothers, Steve Eng of Wenatchee and Brian Eng of Bellevue, Wash.; and three sisters, Lily Eng of Seattle, Linda Eng of Bellevue, and Dianna Eng of Bellevue.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
