Obituary of Iona Jones

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home for Iona Ida Jones of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of Springfield, who died July 9 of age-related causes. She was 91.She was born June 12, 1921, in Dominion City, Manitoba, Canada, to Alexander and Mary Post Kirkpatrick. She married William Leonard Jones on June 14, 1947, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He died Aug. 8, 1979.She attended schools in Canada. She worked at the cannery in Eugene until her retirement.Survivors include a son, Robert of Chandler, and three grandchildren. A daughter, Lynda Jones, died Feb. 21, 2001.Inurnment will be Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
