Obituary of Darrel Collins

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Eugene for Darrel Demoyne Collins of Eugene, who died Sept. 6 of heart-related causes. He was 69. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, Sept. 11, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. A luncheon will be held after the funeral at the church.He was born July 1, 1943, in Chicago to Ralph and Mildred Moody Collins. He married Ramona Collins on Dec. 11, 1976.He graduated from high school. He served in the Navy. He worked as a welder.Survivors include his wife; five sons, Darrel Jr. of Colton, David and Daniel, both of Springfield, and Steven and Mike, both of Eugene; a daughter, Vicky Jones of Eugene; two brothers, Ralph and Gary, both of Eugene; and 18 grandchildren.Burial will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday.
