Obituary of Francis Harkin

The funeral Mass was held Sept. 17 at Our Lady of Perpetual Hope Church in Cottage Grove for Francis “Frank” Harkin of Bend, who died Sept. 14 of heart failure. He was 84. Visitation was held at the church.He was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Derry, Ireland, to Cornelius and Annie Carabine Harkin.He graduated from high school. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He worked as a welder and construction worker.Burial was held at Springfield Memorial Gardens.Arrangements by Musgrove’s at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield.
