Obituary of Clara Poole

A celebration of life will be held at noon Sept. 29, at Norkenzie Church of Christ in Eugene for Clara Poole of Eugene, who died Sept. 7 of cancer. She was 94.She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Yarnaby, Okla., to Joshua and Dora Mae Hamilton Speights. She married Ira “Shorty” Poole on Oct. 5, 1933, in George West, Texas. He died previously.She finished eighth grade. She was a homemaker.Survivors include a son, Bill of Creswell; two daughters, Irene Stagner of Springfield and Doloros Hegner of Elk Grove, Calif.; three brothers, Lloyd Speights of Magalia, Calif., Roy Speights of Sacramento and Dot Speights of California; two sisters, Marge Mitts of Newberg and Peg Paslay of Antioch, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, Daniel Poole and Doyle Poole, and a grandson, Daniel Poole, died previously.Arrangements by Musgrove’s at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene.
