HARRISBURG — The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Halsey Mennonite Church for Wilbert David Kropf of Harrisburg, who died Sept. 26 of age-related causes. He was 88. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Harrisburg Mennonite Church.He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Shelbyville, Ill., to Ezra and Ida Eash Kropf. He married Elva Miller on Feb. 24, 1946, in Middlebury, Ind.He completed junior high school. He was involved in farming most of his life, owning and operating a farm near Harrisburg. He was ordained to the ministry in the Mennonite Church. During his ministry he assisted in various congregations while serving his home congregation at Harrisburg for 57 years.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry of Cove and Leland and James, both of Harrisburg; two daughters, Edith Patzan of Harrisburg and Mary Lee Kreider of Squaw Valley, Calif.; 33 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Evelyn Kropf, died in 1997, and daughter Martha Birky died in 1999. A son, Sam Kropf, died in 1981 and grandson Douglas Birky died in 1993.Burial will be at Alford Cemetery.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
