Obituary of Robert Cline

Robert Cline Sr.MAPLETON — A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for Robert “Bob” Cline Sr. of Mapleton, who died Oct. 7 of heart failure. He was 95. Visitation will be at noon Friday at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.He was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Mount Vernon, Wash., to Thomas and Augusta Lucas Cline. He married Vera Rose Manfredi in May 1937 in Tenio, Wash. She died in March 1996.He received his education in Washington. He was stationed in Korea during World War II in the U.S. Army. He worked for US Plywood and Champion Plywood companies in Mapleton from 1946 to 1965, then worked for the Mapleton School District as a custodian, retiring after 16 years there.Survivors include three sons, Thomas “Mike” of Eugene, Robert Jr. of Maunelle, Ark., and Ronald of Lebanon; a daughter, Betty Scherette of Santa Rosa, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
