Obituary of Ruth Walker

Ruth WalkerRuth Ellis Walker of Eugene died Oct. 22 of age-related causes. She was 88. A service is planned for later.She was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Flora Arpy Ellis. She married Paul Dancy Walker on Dec. 19, 1970, in Whittier, Calif. He died in 2005.She was a 1942 graduate of North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She held a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and a master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University. She worked as an elementary school teacher for 31 years, retiring from East Whittier School District in Whittier, Calif., in 1986.Survivors include two sons, Craig Lannom of Eugene and Bruce Alan Walker of Atlanta; a brother, Charles “Bud” Ellis of Florence; and two grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
