Obituary of Anson Chaney
Anson Chaney of Eugene died Oct. 22 of a stroke. He was 89. A private memorial is planned.He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Marcola to Thurman and Odrey Walker Chaney.He attended Marcola Grade School. He served in the Army in the South Philippines during World War II. He worked as a track supervisor for Southern Pacific Railroad.Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Conrad of Junction City; two sisters, Odrey Wootan of Springfield and June Carpenter of Cottage Grove. A son, Allen Chaney, died in July 1972.Inurnment will be held at Lane Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Musgrove’s at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.
