Obituary of Ruth Swearingen

Ruth SwearingenThe funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Ruth G. Swearingen of Eugene, who died Oct. 28 of complications of cancer. She was 84.Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.She was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Long Beach, Calif., to George and Myrtle Rose Klemme. She married Charles “Marvin” Swearingen on March 1, 1956, in Drain. He died in 2007.She graduated from Drain High School in 1945. She worked for the North Douglas School District as a teacher’s assistant and worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Wiltse’s office in Drain. She became a business owner in the motel industry until her retirement.Survivors include two sons, Donald of Springfield and Bruce of Portland; three daughters, Loni Lakey of Redmond and Carol Jacobs and Evelyn Lange, both of Eugene; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Burial will follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
