Obituary of John Lindamood
John LindamoodA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at First Baptist Church in Eugene for John C. Lindamood of Eugene, who died Nov. 26 of stroke. He was 86.He was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Glendale, Calif., to Ward and Dorothy Chandler Lindamood. He married Doris DeLong on March 16, 1944, in Glendale. She died May 5, 1990. He married Eleanor Phillips on Nov. 3, 1990, in Eugene.He served as a medic in the Navy and served during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked as a quality control inspector for the federal government from 1957 to 1980 and was involved with the Apollo Space Program.Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Springfield; a daughter, Diane Hooge of Eugene; two stepdaughters, Sherry Drake of Georgia and Linda Klover of Washington; a brother, Roger Lindamood of Rocklin, Calif.; two sisters, Joyce Orr of Tehachapi, Calif., and Mary Montilepre of Phalin, Calif.; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. A son, David Lindamood, died Oct. 6, 2012, and a stepdaughter, Mare Denton, died previously.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Camp Harlow.
