Mary Ellen HendersonMary Ellen Henderson of Eugene died Dec. 10 of age-related causes. She was 96.She was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Lima, Ohio, to Frank and Morna Davis Eberhart. She married Roy “Morrie” Henderson on Aug. 22, 1942, in Palo Alto, Calif. He died June 6, 2006.She graduated from Eugene High School in 1933. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1937 with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She taught journalism, typing and art at Madison Junior High School in Eugene for 12 years, retiring in 1978. She was the advisor for the student newspaper, The Scribe.Survivors include a son, John of Denver; two daughters, Mary Dean Lohman of Hemet, Calif., and Ann Treffry of Eugene; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Greenhill Humane Society.
