Obituary of Vernon Cook

Vernon CookA memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Word & Spirit International Church, which meets in the Willamette High School auditorium in Eugene, for Vernon Alan Cook of Eugene, formerly of Cottage Grove, who died Dec. 17 of a heart attack. He was 58.Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Musgrove Family Mortuary.He was born March 8, 1954, in Murphy, N.C., to Samuel and Mary Palmer Cook. He married Sherry LaDawn Penix on Nov. 20, 1999, in Cottage Grove.He graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1972 and attended classes at Lane Community College. He was the owner of C and C Home Restoration and subcontracted for The Carpet Co. and Di’s Floor Covering.Survivors include his wife; his mother, now of Eugene; a son, Randy of Hillsboro; a daughter, Sheila Cook of Ephrata, Wash.; two brothers, Marvin of Springfield and Chuck of McMinnville; two sisters, Linda Ely of Beaverton and Bonnie Davis of Eugene; and five grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
