Obituary of Dorothy Yocum

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 18th, at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home for Dorothy Mae Hemmerly Yocum, who died January 13, 2013 of age related causes. She was 84. She was born December 22, 1928 in San Diego, CA to Harold and Edith Ziedrich Hemmerly. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband George Daniel Yocum, her son Daniel Craig Yocum, and grandson Tommy Laury. She is survived by her sister Kathy Renninger and husband Les Renninger of Eugene, OR. Her brother Harold (Bud) Hemmerly of San Diego, CA. Three daughters: Sara and husband Jim Bland of Rogers, AR. Cindy and husband Tom Laury of Elmira, OR; Kathy and husband Glenn Christensen of Tahlequah, OK; 5 grandchildren: Gina, Dawn, Shelly, Kim, Danny; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She worked for many years as an apartment manager in Springfield, OR. She loved to watch sports, especially Duck Football, but will be most remembered for how much she gave to others. She was a caregiver to all. First in profession as a nursing assistant for many years. But especially to her family, she made it clear how much she loved them and that they were the most important thing in her life.
