Obituary of C. Robert Jameson

Bob Jameson of Eugene, OR died on February 15, 2013 from advanced kidney failure, at the age of 92. Bob was born February 15, 1921 in Birmingham, Iowa to Harry and Sarah (Hewitt) Jameson. He graduated high school in Birmingham, Iowa. During world war two he was unable to serve in the military as a result of a childhood injury to his right foot, he helped on the home front by volunteering as a blackout guard. The blackouts were ordered to protect the ammunition factories in Burlington, Iowa. He married Vera Irene Springsteen of Morning Sun, Iowa on September 5, 1944. After their marriage they moved to Springfield, OR with Vera’s sister and her husband. Bob worked in the local lumber mills, retiring from Eugene Stud & Veneer in 1979. First Baptist Church started Berean Baptist Church on Chambers street; Bob joined the church, and was a dedicated member all his life, driving the bus to pick up people for church on Sundays, serving on the trustee board, search committees, and recently as the church financial secretary. He is survived by his spouse, Vera Jameson, his brother Rex Jameson of Burlington, Iowa, sister Lamira Collet of Williamsburg, Iowa. Children; Ruth Wardrip of White City, OR; Marvin and Sandy Jameson of Corvallis, OR; Paul Jameson, Ken and Deana Jameson, and Mark Jameson all of Eugene, OR; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harry and John Jameson, and his sister Doris Nidey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 23, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church, 1210 Chambers St, Eugene, OR. Memorial donations can be made to Berean Baptist Church missions program. There will be a viewing from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Lane Memorial Funeral Home, 5300 West 11th Avenue in Eugene.
