Obituary of Kathleen Kane-Wilcox
Kathleen Margaret Kane-Wilcox, 95 of Springfield, died March 8, 2013 of pneumonia. She was born April 13, 1917 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Maude E. Mooney and Martin W. Kane, along with three sisters and two brothers. She attended Burchard High School in Nebraska, followed by 13 years of service at Chase Gardens. On May 27th, 1936, she wedded Herald S. Wilcox in Pawnee City, Nebraska (Herald passed on November 3, 2000). In 1956, Herald and Kathleen moved from Beattie, Kansas to Springfield, OR, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Kathleen was involved with various church groups, particularly St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield. She very much enjoyed travel and spending valuable time with her family. Kathleen is survived by her son Paul (Sharon) Wilcox (Eugene, OR), her daughter Cheryl Kane-Banke (Tucson, AZ), and youngest daughter, Karen (Dave) Druckenmiller (Louisville, KY). Kathleen brightened the lives of 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her Irish tenacity, love and support will be remembered and missed by her family. Donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul in her memory. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 PM at Springfield Memorial Gardens Chapel. Viewing time is 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the Rosary. Funeral Service on Friday, March 15 at 11:00 AM at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield, Oregon.
