Obituary of Harlin Schlosser

Harlin E. “Dutch” Schlosser died March 27, 2013 at 80 years old due to age related causes. He was born July 21, 1932 in McPherson County, South Dakota to Rudolph and Hilda (Neiffer) Schlosser.A Memorial Service is planned for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 225 S. Danebo Avenue, Eugene, OR 97402. A private inurnment will be at a later date.Harlin was born and raised on the family farm near Frederick, South Dakota. Harlin served in the US Army during the Korean conflict where he was stationed in Germany building bridges. After the military, Harlin moved to Los Angeles, California where he married Marcella Lopez. The family relocated to Junction City, Oregon in 1963. Harlin and Marcella later divorced.Harlin met Patricia Ann Brenden in 1968 and they were married on April 19, 1969.While in Southern California, Harlin worked at Northrup where he helped build the feet for the Apollo landing craft which later landed on the moon in 1969. After moving to Oregon he worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and retired from Delta Sand & Gravel in 1992.His passion in his retirement years was restoring vintage era John Deere tractors. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping and was a member of the Eugene Eagles Lodge.Harlin is survived by:His Wife of 44 years Pat, Daughters Mary Engel and Kathy Schlosser (Husband Robert Atkins) of Sacramento CA; Sons Wallace St. Julian (Wife Teri) of Eugene OR, Anthony St. Julian of Sacramento CA, Eddie Schlosser (Wife Jill) of Eugene OR and Mike Schlosser (Wife Joesette) of Springfield OR; Brothers Harvin Schlosser of Westport SD, Vern Schlosser of Frederick SD, Gene Schlosser of Aberdeen SD and Bill Schlosser of Bath SD; Sisters Evelyn Olson and Shirley Wagemann of Aberdeen SD, Mary Jensen of Duluth Minnesota and Loraine Dorman of Carson CA; Grandchildren Raina Banuelos, Savannah St. Julian and Ryan Atkins of Sacramento CA, Jocelin Engel of Queens NY, Janessa Schlosser, Wally St. Julian lll, Pam St. Julian, Alex St. Julian, Tisha Feeley and Lyndy Feeley of Eugene OR; Great Grandchildren Austin and Elissa St. Julian of Vancouver Washington and (34) Nieces and Nephews.Harlin was preceded in death by his son Joseph, Parents Rudolph and Hilda, Brother Delbert and Sister Joyce.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
