Obituary of Meldon Roseberry

Meldon Roseberry, 85, of Springfield went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 13, 2013 of age related causes. He was born in Waldron, Arkansas on April 29, 1927 to his parents, Richard and Jennie Roseberry. He married Bettye Barrong on June 19th, 1947. They relocated to Oregon in 1951, making their home in Springfield since 1961. Meldon worked in the wholesale grocery business before becoming a policeman. He also worked in lumber mills and retired from Georgia Pacific in 1989. Meldon proudly served his country in the Navy for two years aboard the U.S.S. Thetis Bay during WWII. He was also a member of the Freemasons for 30 years. Meldon was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his Family; loved to study his Bible; watching old westerns on TV; mechanics; gardening; woodworking; family gatherings; fishing and hunting. Meldon was a member of Parkway Landmark Baptist Church in Springfield. Meldon had three brothers: Wayne, Lloyd and Milmo. He is survived by three sons: Ron (wife Chris) of Klamath Falls; Mike (wife Sheena) of Springfield; and Dan (wife Vicki) of Eugene. Nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Thelma, Wilma and Ovaline. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18th at Springfield Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A viewing will be at 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17th
